Core Functions / Responsibilities:
- Assist in protection unit’s activities in operational sites including camps, MRPs, departure centre, community-based care centre serving migrants, IDPs and host communities with protection needs.
- Provide information counselling on protection to crisis-affected population and migrants.
- Provide comprehensive case management services to individuals at risk of or experiencing protection incidents, including human rights violations and trafficking. This involves conducting assessments, developing case plans, implementing interventions, and ensuring appropriate follow-up.
- Identify and assist identify protection case clients including victims of trafficking and other vulnerable individuals through targeted interventions and support mechanisms.
- Collaborate with partners to facilitate referrals to appropriate services, ensuring a coordinated and effective response to protection needs.
- Manage and distribute cash assistance for protection purposes, adhering to organizational guidelines and ensuring accountability.
- Organize and conduct awareness-raising activities to inform communities about protection risks, rights, and available services.
- Facilitate focus group discussions to gather information on protection concerns, community dynamics, and service gaps, informing programmatic responses.
- Provide training and support to other staff, partners, and community members to enhance their ability to identify and respond to protection issues effectively.
- Maintain accurate and confidential case files, and prepare regular reports on activities, challenges, and outcomes to inform program development and donor reporting.
- Participate in monitoring and evaluation activities to assess the effectiveness of protection interventions and contribute to continuous improvement.
- When necessary, assisting in organizing Voluntary Humanitarian Return (VHR) assistance.
- Assist in organizing distribution activities targeting migrants and community members.
- Assist in emergency protection responses, including rapid assessments and immediate support to affected populations during crises.
- Perform any other tasks as required.
Required Qualifications and Experience
Education:
- University degree (B.S.c) in social science, business administration or other relevant discipline.
- At least 1 year experience as a social worker and with supervisory experience;
- Understanding of GBV, child protection and general protection case management procedures and processes;
- Operational field experience required;
- Emergency experience and previous project implementation and management experience, Understanding of standards and practices in migrant protection and assistance;
- Understanding of protection principles and experience in humanitarian emergency response;
- Prior professional experience with a humanitarian organization is required;
- Excellent writing skills;
- Good level of IT literacy (MS. Word & Excel).
